£200,000 refurb spices up Indian restaurant

14th October 2022

A comprehensive refurbishment by Procast has spiced up the visual appeal of a hugely popular Indian restaurant.

The project to upgrade the interior of the award-winning Sanam curry house in Falkirk commenced in August, 2022, and was handed over to the clients in the middle of October.

Coming in at £200,000, the programme of works included:

  • New main entrance doors and screens
  • The removal of all existing finishes including mechanical and electrical services, ceilings, floor coverings, wall coverings and all fixed and loose furniture
  • The supply and installation of new vinyl, tile and carpet floor coverings
  • Supply and installation of new fixed and loose furniture, including banquette seating, booth seating, maître-d station, island units, new bar and back bar
  • New lighting installation
  • Alteration to fire and heat detection, CCTV and intruder systems
  • New joinery finishes including internal doors
  • Alteration to water services installations including new bathroom sanitaryware
  • Full redecoration
  • New curtains
  • New graphics

The project clients were Scarinish Studio, and Procast worked alongside manufactured joinery partner BJM Design Ltd who have an excellent track record on projects such as this.

Because the works were carried out in a main street at a bustling period, rigorous procedures and processes relating to traffic management, security and housekeeping were coordinated by the project team.

A Procast spokesman said: “We were absolutely delighted to have delivered such a fantastically designed refreshed restaurant space at Sanam.”

Sanam was named Best Restaurant in Scotland at the Scottish Curry Awards in 2016 and took the Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland at the Curry Oscars, the British Curry Awards, the following year.
