Better homes, better lives

18th March 2022

WORKS to improve the insulation and roofing of numerous local authority homes in East Renfrewshire are progressing well.

Procast secured the £1.8million contract to refurbish the mixed-tenure properties at the end of last year in a comprehensive programme that will run until the end of summer, 2022.

The project includes the design and installation of energy efficiency improvement works involving re-roofing and external wall insulation with upgraded mechanical ventilation of semi-detached, mid-terrace, four-in-a-block and tenement houses.

All the properties are located within the East Renfrewshire Council area and all works follow PAS2035:2019 specification for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings.

The dwellings will remain occupied during the project, and Procast will also administer the required documentation which involves retrofit assessments, energy performance surveys before and after the works – conducting pre, mid and post-CP12 gas safety checks – building warrant submissions and structural engineering certificates.

Procast will design and construct external wall insulated render systems and re-roof all the houses.

Aside from PAS2035:2019, the contract will also comply with BSI PAS2030:2019 specification for the installation of efficiency measures in existing dwellings.

The project has been procured under East Renfrewshire’s strategic programme for domestic retrofitting to help future-proof homes by making them warm, safe and comfortable for years to come.

Procast have been successfully delivering these services to many longstanding clients over the years on a repeat business basis.
