A MAJOR programme of external wall insulation upgrades in East Renfrewshire has been started by Procast.
The works include re-roofing and re-rendering of existing local authority properties and mixed-tenure blocks – which typically include semi-detached, mid-terrace, four-in-a-block and tenement properties – in three phases.
The 18-week programme has a potential value of £1.3million – £365,000, possibly rising by £750,000 and with an additional £250,000 if funds become available – and it is due for completion by spring of 2021.
As is frequently the case with projects such as these, the work will be undertaken while the properties are occupied, which means Procast will draw on their extensive experience of operating in live residential environments.
As this is a managed contract, Procast will not only carry out the work but will administer the required paperwork, which involves Energy Performance Surveys (before and afterwards), Building Warrant submissions, Structural Engineers’ Certificates, pre-contract and post-contract Energy Performance Certificates, and will design and construction of external wall insulated render systems and the re-roofing of properties to East Renfrewshire Council Properties in various locations within East Renfrewshire.
The project – which has been procured under East Renfrewshire’s strategic HEEPS ABS (Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland: Area Based Schemes) programme – is similar to others that have been successfully delivered to many longstanding clients over the years on a repeat-business basis.
A Procast spokesman said: “We are thoroughly delighted to be given the opportunity of continuing to work with one of our longstanding clients, East Renfrewshire Council.”
