PROCAST have been selected to deliver a major programme of refurbishment works to residential properties in leafy East Renfrewshire.
The £750,000 project will involve roof and rendering upgrades to a number of homes in the area.
They will include detached, semi-detached, terraced and four-in-a-block houses of mainly masonry cavity construction with various roof types.
The works will be conducted while the buildings are occupied, so they will have to be phased and respectfully managed to avoid unnecessary disruption to “live” residential environments.
They will also have to take account of existing main services installations, including satellite dishes, boiler flues, expansion pipes, water taps, virgin media, BT cables, gas pipes and meter boxes, electrical cables, intruder alarms, TV aerials, signage, external lights and internal and external drainage systems.
Procured under East Renfrewshire’s strategic Roof and Render Framework 2018-22 Year 3 works (2020-2021), the project is similar to many that have been delivered by Procast to many local authority and housing association clients over many years.
Procast Director Carol Cameron said: “We are thoroughly delighted to be given the opportunity of continuing to work in a collaborative partnership with East Renfrewshire Council and making a significant contribution in improving the lives of residents in the area.”
The start and completion dates for the programme – which involves a mixture of council-owned and private dwellings in Busby, Thornliebank, Barrhead and Neilston – have yet to be confirmed.
