New school doors keep kids safe

Replacement fire doors at two schools are being installed by Procast as part of an internal upgrade programme.

The project involved a total of 90 door sets at Cross Arthurlie Primary and Hillview Primary Schools in East Renfrewshire.

The six-week programme, which is due to be completed by the start of August, saw 60 stairwell fire doors and 30 corridor fire doors installed at both locations, as well as:

• New fanlights and screens
• At Cross Arthurlie Primary School – one new corridor timber double doorset and partition
• Making good of all wall, floor and ceiling finishes
• Complete a site survey to check dimensions on site before ordering material and components or commencing works
• Works associated with the fire alarm system (for automatic closers, magnetic hold-open devices), intruder alarm and firefighting equipment and signage
