One goes into four in industrial estate conversion

17th February 2022

WORK to convert a large unit in an industrial estate into four smaller units with all-new facilities and services has been started by Procast.

The project at Nos 3, 5, 7 and 9 Netherbank Road in Netherton Industrial Estate has been commissioned by North Lanarkshire Properties with a budget of £500,000.

Scheduled to be completed by June 2022, the programme of works will see structural and building activities sub-divide the existing space into four independent units, each with office and store facilities and accessible male and female toilets.

The project will also involve:

  • Demolition of existing internal offices
  • Formation of new blockwork division walls and formation of office/bathroom facilities
  • New roller shutter doors
  • Mechanical works throughout the new units, including new toilet blocks
  • All joinery finishes to new facilities
  • New cubicle systems to toilets
  • Decoration
  • Installation of structural steel columns and fire-stopping
  • Removal of redundant roof cowls and plant
  • Full coating of existing roof structure with Tor Coatings product

All neighbouring units are currently occupied and will remain live throughout the duration of the contract, so rigorous procedures and processes relating to traffic management, security and housekeeping will be adhered to

Furthermore, Procast will ensure that their works do not adversely affect the operation of these businesses.

A spokesman for the company’s construction division said: “We are thoroughly delighted to be given the opportunity of continuing to work in a collaborative partnership with our longstanding clients North Lanarkshire Properties.”

Procast have been successfully delivering roof, insulation and energy solutions to many long-tanding clients over the years on a repeat basis, specialising in social housing.

North Lanarkshire Properties are an arm’s length organisation who manage a range of properties independently from North Lanarkshire Council but remain subject to an element of council control and influence.
