Procast Group acquires renewable
heating pioneers Thermsaver

28th June 2023

The Procast Group have acquired leading renewables consultancy Thermsaver Heating Solutions, to improve the range and quality of decarbonisation solutions for clients.

Thermsaver, based in Bellshill, and Procast, based in Hamilton, have already worked in partnership on the successful delivery of a number of projects across Central Scotland.

Pen was put to paper on the deal in Hamilton by Procast Managing Director Derek Innes and Thermsaver’s Brian Kelly (pictured).

Thermsaver were established in October 1985 by Graham Curtis, and over the past 38 years have gained a reputation for being leaders in the design of bespoke renewable heating solutions and in particular air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and biomass communal/district heating systems.

Derek Innes said: “Thermsaver will benefit the entire Procast Group and will help us continue our growth as market leaders in the decarbonisation sector, with the ability to offer a full turnkey solution to all our partners.

“With Thermsaver’s experience within the larger district heating sector, along with their ever-growing research and development department looking at numerous product innovations, we feel that this is a perfect addition and will assist with future-proofing the business and offering our clients the very best decarbonisation solutions.

“We feel that this acquisition will not only benefit our clients but will give us full control over our design capabilities within the ever-changing renewables industry and allow us to continue to work in collaboration with our key clients to achieve their net-zero targets.”

The wealth of experience that comes with the Thermsaver design team will be invaluable as Procast continue to build on their reputation within the full PAS2035 Whole House Approach Retrofit market.

The acquisition evolved from the ambition to formally bring Brian Kelly and the Thermsaver team into the Procast family.

Both companies have already successfully worked on a number of joint ventures with some key clients over the past two years as part of a nationwide push towards larger communal heating solutions.

Brian is retaining a significant share within the company and will be actively supported by Derek and the rest of the main board as the Procast Group to continue their rapid growth within the market.

This latest acquisition brings the total number of divisions within the Procast Group to seven, comprising Procast Building Contractors, Procast Property Services, Procast Energy Services, Brimar, Thermsaver Heating Solutions, Thermasver Management Services and Curtis Heating and Energy Solutions.

Procast are always actively looking for quality partners to add to the group and would welcome discussions with any interested parties that feel they could add value to the business.
