24th June 2021

Major upgrades in the toilet facilities at a primary school are being delivered by Procast.

The work to improve the facilities at St Joseph’s in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, is on-budget at £380,000 and is scheduled to be completed by August, 2021.

A full refurbishment will see not just an improvement to the toilets but to the associated LED lighting system and water works.

Alterations and refurbishment of existing toilets for Primary 1 and Primary 2 boys and girls will generally comprise:

  • Non-structural down-takings
  • Wall, floor and ceiling finishes
  • New toilet cubicles and integrated plumbing system paneling
  • Vanity units and sanitary ware
  • Plumbing, mechanical and electrical installations
  • Decoration
  • Rewiring

A Procast spokesman said: “We would like to say that this demonstrates our continuing commitment to working within the education sector across local authority areas, and we are looking forward to delivering this project.

“Due to the short-term duration of the works for the complete project and a shortage of materials due to the current volatile supply climate, this could be a challenge but we are carefully planning and procuring materials to ensure that we can meet the project timescales.”

The company have to date delivered numerous projects on education campuses for various local councils over the years and are continuing to operate in a number of live locations at the time of publication of this article.
