Sustainable Futures

We recognise that sustainability is critical to all our futures …

The environmental wellbeing of our communities is key to our decision-making and operating processes.

We work with all of our customers and those in our supply chains to promote sustainable procurement and thus ensure that we minimise the impact on the people and places we come into contact with.

To ensure that we meet our environmental responsibilities and official compliance requirements with all statutory regulations – and to promote best practice – Procast:

  • Develops and maintains an Environmental Management System (EMS) which is assessed, evaluated and accredited with ISO 14001:2004.
  • Is a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

We continually monitor our environmental impact, with a view to reducing it year on year through:

  • Waste reduction and recycling and the increased use of recycled materials.
  • The use of dual-fuel or “Eco” standard low-fuel-consumption vehicles.
  • Regular vehicle maintenance.
  • Enhanced fleet management through GPS-based Fleetmatics.
  • Efficient route scheduling and analysing driving performance.
  • Reducing our carbon footprint by better management of natural resources and energy usage in our head office, depot and sites.
  • The use of site-specific waste management plans’ for every project, focusing on waste reduction and material recovery reducing.
  • Identification and mitigation of environmental pollution and potential effects on biodiversity that results from our activities.
