An award-winning principal contractor has signed a deal to become a key installer of domestic air source heat pumps for ScottishPower, one of the UK’s leading green energy companies.

Hamilton-based firm, Procast Group, has partnered with ScottishPower’s customer business to support its domestic customers right across Scotland looking to upgrade and decarbonise heating systems in their homes.

The deal marks the first time Procast Group has worked with ScottishPower as one of its heat pump installers as the energy company intensifies its efforts to roll out zero carbon heat technologies across the UK.

Residential properties account for 16% of the UK’s carbon emissions and heat pumps are recognised as a crucial solution to support the country’s march to

Net Zero by moving homes away from fossil-fuel-forms of heating.
ScottishPower has installed over 4,000 heat pumps in customers homes to date and by expanding its network of qualified installers, the company aims to drive the growth of the UK’s heat pump market further as it meets growing demand from customers.

Many of these installations benefitted from government grants such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and Energy Companies Obligation 4 (ECO4), which reduce overall costs for customers, particularly those from lower-income households.

Procast Group, which currently employs more than 130 staff, is a market leader in retrofitting work and innovative multi-trade contracting projects across Scotland and the North of England.
The group also operates bases in Aberdeen and Dumfries, with plans for further expansion in Angus afoot.

Derek Innes, Owner and Managing Director of Procast Group, said: “Working with a household name such as ScottishPower is a landmark deal for Procast as we look to continue to expand our operations.

“Our commitment to innovations and clean heating technology is unrivalled and this partnership with ScottishPower is testament to the reputation we have built up as a market leader in this area.

“We are dedicated to providing exemplary service to ScottishPower and their customers looking to install this increasingly vital domestic technology.”

Eileen Anderson, Commercial Development Manager at ScottishPower, said: “We are delighted to bring Procast Group on board to help customers decarbonise their homes.
“ScottishPower has already installed thousands of heat pumps across Scotland, England and Wales, and continues to make a difference to customers, helping them access government-funded schemes and remove any financial barriers where possible.

“We’re looking forward to working with Procast Group, as they offer a professional, smooth heat pump installation process to all our customers undertaking their home decarbonisation journey.”
