An award-winning principal contractor has won a contract to begin the transformation of the derelict Greenfield House in Alloa.

Hamilton-based firm, Procast Group, will begin to update the iconic out-of-use manor house in Clackmannanshire from next month after winning a £1m council contract to carry out the 13-month project.

Working with Clackmannanshire Council, Procast will deliver Phases 1 and 2 to make the renowned and historic building, located within Greenfield Park, wind and watertight.

This will, largely, involve remedial work to the roof, glazing and gutters to start the process of bringing the building back to its former glory.

Phase 2 will involve eliminating damp and dry rot, along with plaster repairs and some decoration.

The stunning building, which has lay empty for eight years, is still to have its final use decided by the council.

Procast Group, which currently employs more than 130 staff is a market leader in retrofitting work and innovative multi-trade contracting projects across Scotland and the North of England.

Derek Innes, Owner and Managing Director of Procast Group, said: “We are excited to commence work on this fantastic heritage building – which has stood in the centre of Alloa for more than 130 years.

“Our hope is to be part of the journey to restoring this stunning manor house to past glories and, by commencing Phase 1, we believe we are taking a huge stride forward to achieving that.

“Hopefully, come the end of this initial project, we are able to continue with the works to bring this cultural landmark back up to scratch and maintain its prominence in the town for another century.”
