The Project

Starting on September 18, 2023, and completed in just two weeks, Procast installed a 135KW photovoltaic roof array system for Campbell Fuel Oils in Kilmarnock. The project included full design service, the required G99 generation asset application for electrical apparatus of this scale, full installation and commercial commission. Due to the condition of the existing structure, Procast's team had to use a self-supporting roof mounting kit on some of the arrays to ensure the safety of the system and protect the roof.

Client Campbell Fuel Oils
Location Kilmarnock
Value £135,000

The Approach

Also, specialist scaffolding/bird cages were used to protect the company's operatives and structure of the roofs. This PV system forms stage one of Campbell Fuel Oils' ambitions to reach their carbon-reduction targets.

The Outcome

Headed up by Ross Samson, this was the second large-scale PV system Procast had completed in a period of a few months, following on from the 150Kw system installed at South Lanarkshire College. The clients expressed their amazement at at how quickly the system was installed with minimal impact on the day-to-day running of their business. And they told us: "We are already seeing huge savings on our daily energy bills."
