The Project

Dumfries & Galloway Council approached Procast whilst looking to upgrade and expand their electric vehicle charging point infrastructure.
Working across five sites – Castle Douglas, Gatehouse of Fleet, Gretna and two car parks in Stranraer – Procast was tasked with installing 28 7.2KW dual charging units.
Procast was required to liaise with SSEN (Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks) to carry out the works.

The Approach

The project required co-ordinated road closures and liaising with the local community to ensure that the car parks were kept open throughout the scheduled programme of works. The contract allowed for Procast to call upon is expertise within all departments to deliver the construction, civils, design, installation and commissioning of the 28 commercial charging points.

The Outcome

Procast were delighted to work in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council to assist them with achieving their ambitious EVCP infrastructure target by installing the latest Garo Commercial charging units.
The project formed part of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s wide scale EVCP upgrades to allow the Council to move towards all electric vehicles within its fleet by 2025.
The project was the first commercial EVCP contract secured by Procast Energy Services and forms part of their long-term plans to be a market leader in the delivery of Commercial EVCP systems throughout the UK.
