This major project, which began in January 2023, was to be completed under an NEC3 contract with Contractual Design, demonstrated our expertise in delivering large-scale energy efficiency improvements.

The Approach
As established partners with Home Group, Procast Group were brought in to deliver a £12,550,000 comprehensive whole-house PAS2035/2030 retrofit programme for the housing association in Cumbria.
This major project, which began in January 2023, was to be completed under an NEC3 contract with Contractual Design, demonstrated our expertise in delivering large-scale energy efficiency improvements.
The Outcome
Procast's delivery encompassed a complete suite of energy-efficiency improvements, including our specialist installation of External Wall Insulation, Cavity Wall Insulation, and Loft/Underfloor Insulation.
We successfully integrated Solar PV systems with Battery Storage and implemented property-specific ventilation strategies. A key achievement was replacing outdated solid fuel heating systems with modern Air Source Heat Pumps.
Our enabling works showcased our comprehensive capabilities, including professional scaffolding, roof extensions, and fascia and gutter installations.
We completed over 30 new slated roof installations and renewed/insulated approximately 15 porch/extension flat roofs, demonstrating our extensive expertise in building envelope improvements.
Through our experience and proactive approach, we completed Phase 1, consisting of 96 properties, in June 2023, followed by the successful delivery of Phase 2 with a further 100 properties. Our success across both phases, achieving 100% completion rate and meeting all SHDF KPI targets, demonstrated our ability to deliver complex retrofit programmes effectively.
The successful delivery of properties within the Lake District National Park and conservation areas showcased our ability to meet complex planning requirements while maintaining high standards of delivery. Our collaborative approach with local authorities and stakeholders ensured smooth project progression throughout.
This showcase project demonstrated Procast's capability to deliver complex retrofit programmes through effective stakeholder engagement, innovative solutions, and robust project management. Our success in this programme established us as a leading contractor in residential energy efficiency improvements, particularly in challenging rural and conservation areas.
